Through its creative arrangements and live video performances, the piano and cello duo has garnered a huge following, with over 1.2 million YouTube subscribers and over 150 million streams annually on platforms such as Spotify and Pandora Radio. In 2014, the couple arranged and recorded two pop covers and released them on YouTube. Shakira noticed the duo’s cover and promoted it to her 130 million-plus fan base, saying: “We're loving Brooklyn Duo's piano/cello cover of Empire! Great work guys." The boost that resulted from that exposure and the positive response they were getting on YouTube encouraged Marnie and Patrick to continue creating videos. (Other notable shout-outs since then include ones from Taylor Swift, a-ha and Pearl Jam.) Today, Marnie and Patrick have released over 100 videos on their Brooklyn Duo YouTube channel and 10 albums of covers, spanning artists from The Beatles to Metallica to Ariana Grande. They also have a second YouTube channel, "Brooklyn Classical", which aims to introduce classical music to a larger audience through high quality, live video performances. Brooklyn Classical often hosts high-profile guest artists, including the world-renowned Dover and Escher string quartets, percussionist Ivan Trevino and cellist Cicely Parnas. Popular classical music stations Classic FM and WQXR regularly share Brooklyn Duo’s music on their social media pages, with Classic FM calling the duo “masters of the artfully planned pop cover.” Their music has also been featured on several television shows, including Grey's Anatomy, Pretty Little Liars, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist and America's Got Talent. #brooklynduo

The Brooklyn Bridge is not only one of the top attractions of New York City, but it is also one of the oldest suspension bridges in the world. It connects Manhattan to Brooklyn and crosses the East River. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1964. But building the bridge was a huge undertaking and fraught with tragedy. It took 14 years to complete and nearly 30 people died from various incidents during its construction. #BrooklynBridge #NewYorkCity #WeirdHistory

Both Sides Did Fairly Well...."Blessed" Made It To #45 And "Welcome" To #48 in 1969. Here Is The Brooklyn Bridge Featuring Superb Lead Vocals From The Late Johnny Maestro! Siena takes us to the Brooklyn Bridge where architectural historian, Justin Ferate, gives us the facts on how and why this beautiful bridge was created. Back in the 19th century, the East River, which connects Manhattan and Brooklyn, was a tremendous shipping canal. The people needed to find a way to connect the two cities and still allow for all the ships to enter the harbor. How was the Brooklyn bridge was built in New York. Film continues to show how a tunnel was then built under the river. Film starts with views of the finished bridge. Diagrams show how the building was engineered. Problem 1 - How to build the foundations underwater. Pile driving. Foundation structures are pushed into the river. Maasonry structures of the towers being built. Problem 2 - How to hang a giant bridge span across the river. More diagrams demonstrate the building. A rope was tied to a pier and pulled across the river by boat. Attached to the opposite pier it was then pulled tight. Cables were hauled across one of one. Four cables each contained over 5,000 wires. Suspenders hung from the cables and the roadway built at the same time from both sides of the river to meet in the middle. Most of the footage is diagram format. Engineers working in a factory or laboratory, testing theories, experiments. Teaching young engineering students. A man works on a car engine. A glass door, name says Mechanical Engineer, S Mc Grath. Group of men sit around a table discussing plans. A construction site, two men stand at one corner discussing plans. A diagram indicates the educational path taken by an engineer. View of the Brooklyn Bridge with river traffic passing underneath. Repeat of footage of engineers meeting around a table. Cover of a report - proposed tunnel sites. Traffic congestion on the Brooklyn Bridge, means a tunnel is now required under the river. Pieces of paper list the steps taken in planning the tunnel - possible sites, funding, area improvement, tolls, geology, cost comparisons between another bridge, a tunnel or ferry services. Again Engineers pour over maps and plans around their meeting table. Using diagrams the engineering requirements of a 3,500 feet tunnel are explained. Shafts are sunk and tunnels driven. Actual footage of the shaft structures and digger buckets removing soil. A section of tunnel, showing concrete reinforcement girdles being positioned. Loading plates - the tunnel is lined with cast iron rings. Actual footage of these rings being moved on tracks and lowered down a lift shaft to the tunnel. Workers collect the load at the bottom of the lift. Problem 3 - How to build the tunnel so it won't collapse under the weight of water above. Men entering an air lock. Problem 4 - Making walls water tight. Worker attaching huge nuts and bolts in the tunnel and using an equally large spanner to tighten them. Joint are sealed. Rocks packed around the cast iron rings before being concreted to fill all gaps. View down the partially completed tunnel.

[4K] NEW YORK CITY - Walking around Brooklyn Bridge Park, Brooklyn, USA, Travel - 4K UHD #NewYork #BrooklynBridgePark #Manhattan Videography by THE TABLE Copyright ⓒ 2021 THE TABLE, All Rights Reserved. Brooklyn Bridge Park is an 85-acre (34 ha) park on the Brooklyn side of the East River in New York City. Designed by landscape architecture firm Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, the park is located on a 1.3-mile (2.1 km) plot of land from Atlantic Avenue in the south, under the Brooklyn Heights Promenade and past the Brooklyn Bridge, to Jay Street north of the Manhattan Bridge. From north to south, the park includes the preexisting Empire–Fulton Ferry and Main Street Parks; the historic Fulton Ferry Landing; and Piers 1–6, which contain various playgrounds and residential developments. The park also includes Empire Stores and the Tobacco Warehouse, two 19th-century structures, and is a part of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway, a series of parks and bike paths around Brooklyn. The park's first portion, Pier 1, opened in 2010. The land for the park was formerly an industrial stretch of waterfront owned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. After the city and state signed a joint agreement in 2002, site planning and project funding proceeded. The first work, undertaken in 2007, involved the demolition of a warehouse under the Brooklyn Bridge. Since the opening of Pier 1, several other portions of the park have been completed. As of July 2018, the park was 90% complete. However, there have been disputes and lawsuits over several aspects of Brooklyn Bridge Park, including the construction of residential developments to help pay for the project. Brooklyn Bridge Park is overseen by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation, a not-for-profit organization that operates and maintains the park, as well as oversees its construction. The corporation's mission is to "create and maintain a world class park that is a recreational, environmental and cultural destination enjoyed by residents of, and visitors to, New York City". 🤍 The Brooklyn Bridge is a hybrid cable-stayed/suspension bridge in New York City, spanning the East River between Manhattan Island and Brooklyn on Long Island. Opened on May 24, 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge was the first fixed crossing of the East River. It was also the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time of its opening, with a main span of 1,595.5 feet (486.3 m) and a deck 127 ft (38.7 m) above mean high water. The span was originally called the New York and Brooklyn Bridge or the East River Bridge but was officially renamed the Brooklyn Bridge in 1915. 🤍

I walk across the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan from the entrance at Cadman Plaza East in New York City at night. From Wikipedia: "The Brooklyn Bridge is a hybrid cable-stayed/suspension bridge in New York City and is one of the oldest roadway bridges in the United States. Started in 1869 and completed fourteen years later in 1883, it connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn, spanning the East River. It has a main span of 1,595.5 feet (486.3 m) and was the first steel-wire suspension bridge constructed. It was originally called the New York and Brooklyn Bridge and the East River Bridge, but it was later dubbed the Brooklyn Bridge, a name coming from an earlier January 25, 1867, letter to the editor of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle and formally so named by the city government in 1915. Since opening, it has become an icon of New York City and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1964 and a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in 1972." Come as you are Stay a little later The sun fades away and tonight… PRE: Tell me bout your everyday and all the things that you don’t like..I’ll make them right We could have a drink and talk about the places we might find..we’ll start tonight CHORUS: Come on won’t you kiss me on the Brooklyn Bridge We don’t got no money but we’re stupid rich We’ve got something real no denying it Now I know.. VERSE 2: Sit next to me So I can see your eyes There like the fireworks on 4th of July Sit next to me We can start a fire Watch it burn watch it burn so bright PRE: Tell me bout your everyday and all the things that you don’t like..I’ll make them right We could have a drink and talk about the places we might find..we’ll start tonight CHORUS: Come on won’t you kiss me on the Brooklyn Bridge We don’t got no money but we’re stupid rich We’ve got something real no denying it Now I know..
