Arduino Yun with Power Over Ethernet module generates an annoying sound. Tried with two different PoE+ injectors. This does not happen when powering the Yun using an external power source or USB connection. Why is it generating that sound? DIY POE Power Over Ethernet on NON POE Devices - For Free P over E. P.o.e. *I am not reasonable for you cooking your expensive network appliances.* This can be done on any Ethernet device (some exceptions may occur). Simply find pin 4,5,7,8 to send power down. 4 and 5 are positive and 7,8 are negative. Strip down your Ethernet cable and make sure to cut the 4,5,7,8 wires so that they do not send power back into another piece of hardware on your network and that it only sends power to your intended appliance. Strip the power cable to expose the wires. Solder the red to wires 4,5 and the black to 7,8. Solder the power connector that plugs into your appliance to the other end of the network cable. You may wonder what the SFP slot is for on your switch. Basically, you can connect IP devices such as IP cameras, access points, VoIP phones by using the fiber optic cable through the SFP slot. The fiber optic link provides a fast-speed network over long distances with low latency. You still need other equipment before you can attach the fiber optical cable to your switch. You may still need a media converter at the edge unless your IP device has built-in SFP slots.
