Email was never really designed for the security we might need today. The good news is that most of us are not interesting enough to be at risk of being hacked. 🧨Top 10 Most Secure Email Services🎯 👉 Best Secure Email - PROTONMAIL➜ 🤍 👉 Get NordVPN ➜ 🤍 💥EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL DISCOUNT + 30 Day Money Back Guarantee💥 ► NordVPN Review (In-depth) ➜ 🤍 👉 Top 7 MUST HAVE Cyber Security Software ➜ 🤍 Lucas here and today I'm going to be taking you guys through the top 10 most secure email providers of 2021. In essence a secure email provider is a company that has taken into their hands to make a system that is unreachable or basically bulletproof. 00:00 ➜ Intro 01:16 ➜ Features 02:23 ➜ #1: ProtonMail 03:38 ➜ #2: Tutanota 04:24 ➜ #3: FastMail 04:57 ➜ #4: Hushmail 05:31 ➜ #5: Zoho Mail 05:59 ➜ #6: SCRYPTMail 06:24 ➜ #7: Posteo 06:57 ➜ #8: LuxSci 07:21 ➜ #9: CounterMail 07:49 ➜ #10: Malifence 08:13 ➜ Recap You may have heard of Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, or the many other common ones. But today I'd like to introduce you to a few that you may not have heard of. As technology advances, unfortunately, its enemies do to seems like every time we get smarter than you too. So with everything from your credit cards to your social security number to your mom's yoga teachers address becoming digitized hackers and snoopers have never in history been so close to so much valuable information, just a few YouTube coding classes and board Sunday afternoon. And your nosy neighbor can be wandering around your inbox like a kid in a candy shop. Okay, maybe not that easily. But you get it security is important. Now more than ever. So since 2013, more than 13 billion data records have been lost or stolen due to faulty email security. So the 10 providers on our list have taken it upon themselves to make sure this trend does not continue. Now, to make it onto our list the following 10 had to meet four requirements. First, they need to have end to end encryption on all emails. Which basically means if your email falls into a third party's hands on its journey between you and the independent recipient, it looks like coded mumbo jumbo that no one can read. Second, they've got to have two factor authentication. Third, they need to remove meta headers. Basically meta headers are contained in every email giving browser and device info and sometimes even the recipients info. So these email services basically hide these headers so that if your email is intercepted, you basically won't be traceable. And then last of all, each of these email services are based out of a secure location with minimal or non existent data retention laws. All these fancy words basically being no more data leaks, or snoopers, and sadly, no more junk mail. Now I may be the only one but I find nothing more entertaining than spending my Saturday afternoons scrolling through my week's love letters from the Nigerian princes that pepper my inbox. And who hates though moving on to the good stuff. Topping our list at number one is proton mail. So proton mail comes from Switzerland, which in my eyes is the only thing I should have to say. Switzerland is known for four things watches chocolate, excruciatingly high prices, and flawless security. Proton mail is known for the same things well minus the watches in the chocolate, of course, I mean, even the high prices, as you'd guess protonmail has a rep for perfect security and 100% data privacy. It's got a free package that comes with 500 megabytes of storage and a paid upgrade that can get you five to 20 gigabytes. And it's got end to end encryption as well, even when sending two addresses who don't use proton mail. But my absolute favorite thing about it is that you don't actually enter any personal information when you sign up. So you are literally untraceable. And if you want even more security, you can buy a VPN straight from proton mail with a visionary plan for 30 bucks a month. So if you're looking for the best system, I'd go with proton mail. You can even start with their free plan and see how you like it. Oh, and by the way, I will be including a link to proton mail and actually all the other mail services that I mentioned down below. Thank you guys very much for watching and I'll see you in the next one. Have a wonderful day. - DISCLOSURE - I am affiliated, but not sponsored by any VPN provider. This means I might make money when you purchase paid services through the links provided and I might be able to offer discounts when available. Not being sponsored allows me to keep my own opinions and provide reviews and tutorials without bias. #Current Segment IndicatorSecuring Email on iPad 0:00-0:44 In this demonstration, we're going to look at some things you can do to secure email, as well as web browsing, on an iPad. The web browser and email client on a mobile device, as with any computer, represent one of the most serious and most easily attacked vectors into the device. Just as you need to secure the web browser and email client on a Windows Workstation, you need to secure them on mobile devices as well. Let's take a look at some of things we can do. I'm currently using an iPad to do this demonstration. For email, one of the key things we can do is use SSL to communicate with our mail server. This includes POP or IMAP server, as well as the SMTP server. Let's look at how we do that. #Settings 0:45-2:07 We're going to go ahead and go into our settings. We're going to scroll up. We're going to go into "mail". Then we're going to go into "accounts", go into this Gmail account, go into the account again. If you scroll down, there's an advanced selection. Click on "advanced". You can see here that currently we are already using SSL to encrypt communications between the mail client on this mobile device and the mail server. For this to work, your mail server, both for POP, IMAP, and SMTP, must be configured to support SSL. If it doesn't, then turning this on won't accomplish anything. Remember that POP3 and IMAP and SMTP, by default, transmit data clear text, so using SSL greatly increases the security of your email communications. If you're using this mobile device to send email messages to someone else through your mail server and you're not using SSL, then any sensitive proprietary information in that email is going across the wire clear text and could be sniffed and read by almost anyone. Using SSL sets up an SSL tunnel between the email client and the mail server, allowing us to securely transmit our messages through that tunnel. This is already enabled here. In addition to securing your email account, you also need to secure the web browser on this mobile device. Because we're using an iPad, we're using Safari. Let's go ahead out of our account. #Secure Safari 2:07-4:47 Let's go down to "Safari settings". We can do several things to increase the overall security of the web browser. First, let's go ahead and look at our autofill. Notice that "use contact info" is on. To increase security, we're going to turn that off. In addition, "names and passwords" is also on. We're also going to turn this off. This option automatically fills out web forms using your contact info and passwords. We don't want to do that, so let's keep that off. Now we'll have to manually fill in our usernames and passwords in various web forms and the browser won't remember that information. Autofill on a Workstation that's in an office is a security challenge, and it's a bigger problem on a mobile device. If a lost device is not secured by autolocking, and it had "names and passwords" turned on, anyone could log into an account and have access to your accounts via the web browser. We want to make sure those options are turned off. We're done with this, so let's go back and go to the main "Safari settings". Now what we want to look at is the cookies. Scroll down. As you can see here under "privacy and security", we have cookies, the "block cookies" option, and currently, that's turned to "always allow". We're going to change this to "sites we've visited". There are legitimate sites you do need cookies for, and changing it to sites you visited will make sure that it only saves or accepts cookies from those sites. Setting this to "never" would disable functionality provided by some of those sites, but you can always select that option by selecting "always block". Let's go back. Now we need to enable fraud warning. This will warn us if we're visiting what the browser thinks is a potentially fraudulent website. Right now, you can see it's turned off, so let's go ahead and turn that on. If we also scroll down and go to "advanced", we can see that "Java script" is currently on. This is one of those issues where you have to balance functionality and security, just like with the cookies. Having Java script enabled makes the browser on this device more functional, but it also opens up security issues. The general advice is to disable Java script. #Summary 4:48-5:14 In this demo, we talked about things you can do to secure email and the web browser on a mobile device. In this case, an iPad. We configured the POP3 or IMAP and SMTP protocols to secure communications between the web client and the web server using SSL. Then, we looked at what you can do to secure the Safari web browser on an iPad. We disabled autofill, we restricted cookies, we turned fraud warning on, and we turned Java script off. Then, we finished by turning on the pop-up blocker.

End-to-end encryption protects your email messages from being stolen by hackers, read by spies, or used by Google or Microsoft for targeted advertising. Encrypted email is essential for protection of your online privacy, security, and digital rights. Mainstream email providers like Yahoo Mail, Gmail, or Hotmail, don't offer you end-to-end encryption because that would jeopardize their business model. However, your personal email should be completely private and not read by companies to make a profit off of you. Luckily, there are plenty of gmail/yahoo/hotmail alternatives that keep your messages private and secure from prying eyes of advertisers and governments. Don't expose your private email messages to hackers, cyber criminals, identity thieves, and governments around the world you can’t trust. Sign up with one of these secure and private email providers for an encrypted email. All of these private email services offer free basic entry for account creation, end-to-end encryption using asymmetric public key cryptography, public cause and activism, anonymous sign-up. What is end-to-end encryption, public key cryptography and asymmetric encryption? Asymmetric encryption is the one where users generate two keys to encrypt their data – a private key, and a public key. When someone wants to contact you securely, they use your public key to encrypt the message. To read the message when you receive it, you decrypt it with your private key. Since public keys are available to everyone, you need to make sure nobody tried to spoof your identity using your public key to impersonate you and communicate with your contacts. Tutanota.com encrypted email service review utanota is a free and open source email service based in Germany. The name stems from Latin and translates as “secure message”. Tutanota user experience feels very nice and smooth. Intuitive, logical, nothing new to learn. This is exactly what a privacy email alternative should look like. The basic option is 1 GB of free space that you can devote to your emails and contacts. Tutatona offers you a premium version. It’s possible to send encrypted messages via Tutanota’s application to external accounts. Mailfence.com secure and private email review This is another end-to-end encryption email service but unlike Tutanota, Mailfence supports OpenPGP so that you can manually exchange encryption keys independent from Mailfence servers. The website’s interface is also simple and clean-looking. Basic account will give you 200 MB in messages and additional 500 MB for documents. You can upgrade for 5 and 12 GB plan with unlimited calendars and contacts, or get a pro account with 30 GB in messages and 24 in documents for only a little over 8 bucks a month. Disroot.org protect your privacy review Disroot is one of the two services on this list that similarly to mailfence, enables you to use third party mail clients via POP or IMAP to store your messages locally. Disroot is an encrypted email service with SSL and TLS to transfer your messages as “envelope” and not a “postcard”. Protonmail.com Swiss-based encrypted and secure email review Swiss based encrypted email service developed by scientists from CERN and MIT, Protonmail offers top security and privacy in their end-to-end encrypted webmail application. Protonmail offers two-factor-authentification, but you can also create separate mailbox password. Consumer expert Amy Davis explains how to secure your Google account following a widespread email scam.
Email continues to be the most effective attack vector, and for a simple reason – it works. However, there are simple and effective security mechanisms you can use to help protect your users and organisation. But just how many organisations are taking advantage of these mechanisms? We looked at the 500 largest companies in Norway to answer just that. This is a recording of our webinar on the state of email security, available security mechanisms, and solutions to help protect organisations. If you Googled anything about how to protect the sensitive information your organization works with, it wouldn’t take long before you come across encryption as a recommendation. As a result, organizations of all sizes have no choice but to pour money into ways to protect their most valuable asset’s (customers) data. If they don’t they risk hemorrhaging revenue due to a loss in trust and fines from the government. It's great that it works so well, but how do you use it to your advantage? More importantly, is there a way to encrypt the emails you send out? But, is activating encryption as easy as typing the word “secure” in the subject line of your email? LINKS: 🤍 The answer to the question involved with this video is it could...but it depends. Let me explain. Most individual email accounts don’t natively use encryption. Yet, the majority of popular email providers offer a paid service that encrypts your team's electronic messages. This price table is for Gmail Enterprise. The top-selling point across all tiers is that it provides “Custom and secure business email”. Although generic-sounding, further research confirms that Gmail Enterprise provides the ability to encrypt all the emails from your organization via S/MIME encryption. But Google isn’t the only organization to offer encrypted emailing capabilities. Microsoft 365 does too. So, now that we know that encryption is often offered as a paid service by email providers, where does typing “secure” come into play? Certain encryption methods are more secure than others. Transport Layer Security (TLS) is the standard, yet it only secures the message, not any additional data that’s included or attached in an email. End-to-end is a step above TLS message encryption as it encrypts both the message and the data by requiring the recipient to decode attached data using a private key. Of course, every organization that handles sensitive information wants to use end-to-end encryption. If you have an option to choose the best, you’re going to do it. But end-to-end encryption usually comes at a higher price point than the standard, or TLS. As a result, the organizations that purchase end-to-end encryption services from a cybersecurity vendor are usually charged by volume. To ensure that it’s not overcharged for using end-to-end for every message, most organizations work with their vendors to implement a keyword that triggers a higher level of encryption for a message. Usually, that trigger is providing the word “secure” in the subject line. So, how do you know if your email is secure? The point I tried making in the section before was that typing the word “secure” in an email might encrypt your message. However, it depends on whether or not your organization has a vendor that provides encryption and if that’s the subject line trigger. If you don’t have an encryption vendor, typing “secure” won’t provide any additional protection to what you’re sending. If you do, typing “secure” might not be the right word to signify the need for added security. In any case, before you send anything that has the potential to cause a cybersecurity breach, talk to your IT department first. In the meantime, a best practice is to assume that your email communications aren’t secure. That way you and your team understand the line between what they can and cannot send among each other and outside of your organization. ► Reach out to Etactics 🤍 🤍 ►Subscribe: 🤍 to learn more tips and tricks in healthcare, health IT, and cybersecurity. ►Find us on LinkedIn: 🤍 ►Find us on Facebook: 🤍 #EmailEncryption #EmailSecurity

How does email work - for "real people" to understand Compare to the post office since that is the way it was originally modeled to match Why that isn't secure at all, really 🤍 on email hacked and it had patient info in it) open transmissions and many different servers Misconceptions I use a password so it is secure I use https so it is secure I use TLS so it is secure I use updated Outlook with Hosted Exchange so that should be secure Secure email via End to end encryption tools - each party knows the key Messaging system - you get an email telling you to log in to get the secure email Hosted services that allow for specific types of messaging Hosted exchange Plug-in apps Secured internal only messaging systems Very specific set up to secure the mail database on your internal server Controls you have in place to prevent email to other domains outside the secure system (usually software required) Some systems are automatic encryption / others require you to hit a button on the mail to send it secured. Secure messaging systems for internal discussions that don't use email whole new way of communications in forums / chats instead of email Texting also matters but that is a different episode we can touch on it here A word about spear phishing - excellent example this week from a client
